Outcomes Series

Outcomes 3rd ed

Outcomes Third Edition empowers learners to express themselves by developing their ability to have natural conversations in English. Presented through timely and engaging National Geographic content, learners engage in activities informed by the CEFR can-do statements that prepare them for real world interactions and develop the skills required for life and work.

Outcomes 2nd ed

New to this Edition
  • A clear, evenly-paced grammar syllabus with strong links to context is presented and practised through a consistent guided discovery approach.
  • Inspiring National Geographic videos that provide real global content and language, plus ‘Conversation Practice’ videos that provide a model for real, natural output.
  • An ‘Understanding Fast Speech’ feature that helps students understand authentic English.
  • An integrated pronunciation syllabus that helps students use the language accurately and fluently.
  • An expanded and updated Online Vocabulary Builder that allows students to personalise and engage with vocabulary language learning by developing their own word lists and testing themselves.

Outcomes 1st ed

The first edition of Outcomes was published between January 2010 and June 2011. While it maintained some links with our first General English series Innovations, particularly in terms of its strong lexical input and focus on developing speaking, Outcomes is far more mainstream in its balance of skills and its largely traditional grammar syllabus.
